Wake Forest University is hiring two Assistant Professors of Statistics.
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Wake Forest University invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professor of Statistics positions to begin July 1, 2022. These appointments will be joining the nine current statistics faculty moving to the newly approved Department of Statistical Sciences, which inaugurates on July 1, 2022. We seek faculty with a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research, a desire to mentor both undergraduate and graduate students, and a commitment to enhance the breadth, depth, and diversity of our statistics programs. We strive for inclusivity and seek applicants with demonstrated success or interest in working with diverse populations. The positions are open to candidates across all areas of statistics and applied probability. A Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics or a related area is required. The teaching load is two courses per semester (or equivalent). The department has nine permanent faculty members in statistics and is hiring three more this year. Research interests of current faculty include the areas of networks, applied probability, changepoint detection, statistical learning, record linkage, statistical education, functional data analysis, neural networks, data science, causal inference, biostatistics, spatio-temporal models, Bayesian methods, environmental statistics, and actuarial science. Statistics programs within the department include both a B.A. and a B.S. in Mathematical Statistics, a B.S. in Mathematical Business, and an M.S. with a track in Mathematical Statistics.
