Donations to the Department of Mathematics are used for undergraduate and graduate student research expenses including conference travel and summer stipends.

The John Baxley Award for Excellence in Mentoring
This award was created in Fall 2025 at the behest of four Wake Forest alumni.  The award honors John for his exceptional career and achievements.  It will be awarded annually to faculty in the Department of Mathematics who have excelled at mentoring undergraduate students, graduate students, and new faculty.

The forthcoming  The Fredric T. Howard Scholarship fund. The fund will support a graduate student or students in our Master’s program in Math. 

There are many unallocated costs associated with the receipt and administration of gift funds. Accordingly, and in an effort to be fully transparent, donors should know that donations are subject to a 12% overhead charge when the gift is used.
