Welcome to Teacher Scholar Postdoctoral Fellow Joseph Macula

“I received my PhD in 2026 from the University of Colorado Boulder, where I was advised by Katherine E. Stange. My primary mathematical interests are elliptic curves and their applications to post-quantum cryptography. I am also interested in the history and development of mathematics, especially the developments in geometry over the last century. 

Outside of work, I enjoy skiing, backpacking, running, and a good book (I’m always on the lookout for recommendations). I’m very excited to be joining the department this fall! “
